The Chinese Room and the Observation Deck are located atop the Smith Tower. The Smith Tower is located in Downtown Seattle at 506 Second Avenue between James and Yesler streets overlooking the heart of Pioneer Square.

Driving Directions: From Interstate 5 (heading north or south) exit at James Street. Head west (downhill) to Second Ave. Turn left, we are at the corner of Second and Yesler.

Parking:  Metered street parking is $2.00 per hour; numerous pay lots are nearby.  We recommend the Butler Garage, 114 James Street at Second Avenue.  (Monday-Saturday, 7am-10pm.)

Public Transit: The Smith Tower is 8 blocks south of the Pike Place Market in the "Ride Free" zone.  Most busses heading south on 1st, 2nd, or 3rd Avenue will stop at James Street or Yesler Way.  (Your bus driver will call the  stops by street name, or you can ask the driver to announce the Smith Tower stop.)  We are on Second Avenue between James Street and Yesler Way in Pioneer Square.

Walking: Seattle is the perfect walking city. The short walk from downtown (Pike Place Market) to the Smith Tower provides an excellent opportunity to see some of Seattle’s best architecture. From it’s newest towers (Washington Mutual, Wells Fargo) and cultural institutions (Benaroya Hall, the Seattle Art Museum), to the best of the Art Deco inspired 1930’s (the Exchange Building), to the grand stone and brick buildings of the late 1800’s (the Broderick Building, Key Bank, the Brooklyn, the Collins Building). Enjoy the view! Enjoy the walk! Enjoy Seattle!
